SketchCrawl #36

Today's the 36th international sketchcrawl (http://www.sketchcrawl.com/forum/)
I did some sketching with a friend at a local museum. We had lunch and drinks on a nice terrace where my friend painted/finished her drawings and I did some quick sketches of our neighbours. (glad they didn't notice cause they look like trolls in my sketchbook, but it was fun sketching them!!)

EDM challenge 83 – Draw a nearby body of water

EDM challenge #83 – Draw a nearby body of water – ocean, lake, pond, river

Today I have been drawing at the harbor. There are always people there (like me) who like to watch the ships and they are perfect models!

EDM #45 Draw your medicine cabinet

Everyday matters challenge #45: draw your medicine cabinet. I don't have a medicine cabinet, so I tried to draw my bathroom cabinet.
I am still working in my owly book (made by Caatje), filled 1/3 of it. Between yesterdays drawing and the previous one in the book, there's a three month gap... It really feels like I am starting all over again, relearning to really look and no patience to really capture the details;-)

Draw a window

EDM challenge #219 draw a window
I started drawing the door with the window next to it and discovered I was sitting too close for a fitting perspective...but vacation laziness and all... I just went through with it;-)

How to do a binder makeover

This week a colleague of mine will retire and when something like this happens, we will make our own goodbye presents. Usually one of them is a binder with a personal wish from everyone. I didn't like the binders and decided to do a little make-over....

This is what they looked like before...

For a nice result I had to dismantel the whole thing...The first one was done by my hubby, the second I did myself (of course he had to watch and make some comments;))

The next step involved some fabric, the sewing machine and my lovely assistant...

and then some very sloppy embroidery and a few screws...

and this is the result:
(one of my lovely assistitants wanted to be appriciated as well!)
